  • Maimouna Ndiaye

    Board Member- Chairperson, Founder

    Maimouna is a lifelong advocate for child welfare and social change in African countries. After an internship in Senegal, she returned to the U.S. determined to address the country’s child security crisis. Since 2018, she has focused on improving children's living conditions through health, education policy, and community-driven impact.

    As a trained epidemiologist and Doctor of Public Health student, Maimouna applies a data-driven, health-centered approach to child welfare, emphasizing the connection between health outcomes and policy. In 2019, she founded the Africa Children’s Foundation (ACF) and now serves as its Executive Director, leading sustainable initiatives to improve the well-being of children and women

  • Fatoumata Diop

    Board Member- Health Sustainability Chair

    Fatoumata serves as the Health Sustainability Chair at ACF, working to improve healthcare access for women and girls in underserved communities. Originally from the Bronx, New York, she has five years of experience as a Patient Care Technician, focusing on patient-centered care.

    With a strong clinical and research background, Fatoumata is passionate about addressing health disparities and improving accessibility. Aspiring to become a physician, she aims to serve underserved communities, particularly in Senegal, her home country. At ACF, she leads initiatives that provide education, resources, and care to promote sustainable health solutions.

  • Diana Aldi

    Board Member- Governance & Policy Treasurer

    Diana serves as the Governance & Policy Treasurer of Africa Children’s Foundation, where she oversees financial management, compliance, and governance practices to ensure transparency and accountability across the organization. In this role, she provides strategic oversight of budgeting and financial reporting, advises on policy development, and supports the creation of internal controls and organizational best practices..

    She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Global Studies from Texas Tech University and a Master’s in International Affairs from American University. Her expertise in policy development, financial oversight, and advocacy for marginalized communities strengthens ACF’s mission to advance equity and opportunity for women & children across Africa.

  • Fatumata Sow

    Program Manager

    Fatumata Sow serves as Program Manager at Africa Children’s Foundation, leading efforts to expand education and health access for girls in West Africa. She oversees strategies, partnerships, and donor relations to ensure lasting impact.

    As a first-generation Guinean American, Fatumata draws on her heritage to promote equity in African communities, especially in education and health. She is committed to empowering the next generation of girls.

    A senior at Syracuse University, Fatumata studies Information Management and Technology with a focus on project management and innovation. Her academic and internship experiences fuel her passion for using strategy and data to solve real-world problems. After graduation, she plans to work in consulting and remain dedicated to social impact.


  • Sona Fall

    Menstrual Health Education & Research Intern

    Sona currently serves as our menstrual health education and research intern for our Cycle Project. She is a current MPH candidate at New York University School of Global Public Health, concentrating in global health. As a first-generation Senegalese American, Sona is passionate about learning and applying health equity and systems strengthening solutions in Africa and across the African Diaspora. Sona has extensive experience working in reproductive health as a public health educator for the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Sona is also interested in maternal and child health initiatives across West Africa and beyond.


  • Salamata Bah

    Blog Coordinator

    Salamata serves as our Blog Coordinator Intern. Born and raised in the Bronx as a first-generation Guinean American, she is currently pursuing a dual degree in Psychology alongside a Master’s in Business Administration. Salamata is deeply passionate about advancing equity across African countries, with a particular focus on increasing mental health awareness and access in African communities. With strong skills in statistical analysis and research, she is committed to transforming complex information into clear, accessible content that empowers and informs.
